Our Story

WE GREW UP HERE.  WE’RE FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED.  WE LOVE GOOD FOOD, AND OUR TEAM HAS BEEN AT THIS A LONG TIME.

Salt City Dogs is the latest venture by brothers Terry and Tim Wilson.  The Wilsons grew up nearby in the village of Liverpool.  From an early age, summers were spent on the waters and beaches of Sandy Pond and Lake Ontario, where grilling dogs and burgers was a daily ritual. Mom and Dad had us manning the charcoal grill by the time we were 10.

Prior to Salt City Dogs, Terry spent 7 years selling grilled Hofmann Franks and Coneys, as well as his signature “HUGE State Fair Sausage Sandwich” from his street food cart in North Syracuse.

Tim and his wife spent 15 years as owners and Innkeepers of a hotel in Vermont, offering fine dining and a lively brewpub. His obsessions include making sausage, traditional barbecue, cheesemaking and brewing.

OUR TEAM at Salt City Dogs is a friendly crew of seasoned hot dog veterans.  Many have over 20 years experience serving Hofmann’s sausages and getting them to you hot and fast and just the way you like them.
